- Our camps run for 7 weeks between June 19 and July 28 at each location.

Camp Director Position Details

About Us
Camp Brainy Bunch serves day campers in 12 locations throughout the Bay Area providing non-stop fun and learning in safe and academic environment. Our educators provide a new curriculum each week to help our campers try on a new identify as young doctors, lawyers, writers, engineers, inventors, and broadcasters.

Camp Director Responsibilities
Pre Camp (Late April - Mid June, up to 10 hours per week):
Attend Director Meeting(s) to receive required training and prepare for camp
Regular check-ins with Camp Brainy Bunch Program Director to review ongoing projects and progress
Recruiting: Assist in the recruitment and selection of support staff (recruitment and review of returning/new staff, screening interviews, and recommendations for hiring the staff you will supervise)
With assistance, prepare materials and logistics for your program sites
Camp - Let the Fun Begin (Mid June - August):
Directors are responsible for one camp location and work between 2-9 weeks depending on the site
Depending on number of campers, directors may provide curriculum and instruction to campers
Responsible for the successful daily operations of camp, continuous satisfaction of all campers and parents, and leadership of all site staff (this may mean it you are the one taking the lead in acting crazy, singing a song, or doing a silly dance)
Lead and guide staff, ensuring a high energy and complete delivery of all curriculum, games, and activities
Maintain daily communication with parents/guardians
Work within a set budget of supplies and staff time
Keep Division Director updated and informed of daily success and needs
Build and maintain outstanding relationships with facility staff and representatives

College graduate or Equivalent Experience in a field directly related to camp activities (Graduate Degree Preferred)
Direct experience working with elementary age children
Staff leadership/management experience a plus
Ability, experience, and skills necessary to teach curriculum
Comfort with performing/speaking in front of groups
Creativity, trustworthy, high-energy, passionate for life and the chance to make a difference in children's lives, inspiring, excellent communicator, organized, flexible, and ambitious problem solver

Camp Instructor Position Details
Student Grades: 1st - 6th
Hours/Week: 35 - 40
Commitment: 2 - 6 weeks
Locations: San Francisco (Potrero), San Francisco (Richmond), Albany, Orinda, Fremont, Dublin, Millbrae, San Carlos, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Los Gatos
This is a temporary summer role with opportunities for individuals to join us for 2-6 weeks from June 10 - August 9. Even if you are only available for a week of time in that window, we would still love to hear about your interest and consider your application.
Camp Instructor Responsibilities
Pre-Camp:
Attend mandatory paid staff trainings (specific dates TBA), smaller trainings will be held as needed for staff not able to attend June training
Study and practice assigned curriculum until you are able to deliver them confident and with enthusiasm
Camp:
Instructors are responsible for teaching at one or more camp locations and work between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the number of sites
Work on-site from 7:45AM-3:15PM at assigned camp location
Some additional hours available for staff willing to work extended care from 3:15-5:30
Responsible for the successful delivery of camp curriculum including adaptation and differentiation to enhance the experience and enjoyment of students, as well as to meet individual needs
Support and lead camp games and activities outside of instruction
Supervise all students in your care with constant attention to safety (physical and emotional)
Support camp operations, including morning care, check-in and checkout, clean up, etc.
Maintain daily communication with parents/guardians at check-in and checkout
Treat all campers, parents, and co-workers with respect, empathy, and kindness
Keep camp director updated and informed of daily success and needs
Maintain high standards of professionalism and integrity

Creative, trustworthy, high-energy, passionate for camp, inspiring, excellent communication skills, organized, and flexible

Support site leader in camp operations: check in/check out for campers, clean up, supply management
Ensure constant attention to physical and emotional safety of all campers at your site
Help organize all camp materials each day and for close down at the end of each week
Treat all campers, parents, and co-workers with respect, empathy, and kindness
