Camp Director: Kristina Apodaca

Kristina Apodaca is a teacher with a Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction from New Mexico State University. Currently a Culinary Arts teacher at the middle school level, Kristina brings twelve years of experience to her role as a camp director. In addition to teaching, she has run and directed a child care center and preschool, coached girls soccer for five years, and served as an advisor for the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America organization where she helped students master leadership skills.

Kristina feels the most amazing part of working with students is when she able to see students take what they have learned and apply it in a new and different situation, therefore showing their ability to transfer concepts and problem-solve. She loves seeing campers shine in the roles they naturally take on while working together and is looking forward to campers practicing their teamwork and communication skills this summer!

Camp Director: Lindsay Walsh

Lindsay Walsh has worked at Camp Brainy Bunch as a camp counselor and instructor since the summer of 2017. While earning her BA in Communication Studies at San Jose State University, she worked as a TA for 2nd graders focusing on reading and writing, led a Shakespeare summer camp for 2nd-6th graders, and tutored college students on writing and public speaking.  She is currently working towards her MA degree at San Jose State University in Communication Studies while she teaches public speaking to college students.

This summer, Lindsay is most looking forward to trying new and fun activities with all the campers and watching them learn from each other. Outside of school, she likes to paint, make pottery, play basketball, cook, and soak up the sun at the beach. Lindsay's favorite childhood summer camp memory is creating a rocket out of everyday materials and watching them launch across the soccer field.
